The code for computing the weights was developed with SPARCompiler Pascal 3.0
and cross-compiled to C with `p2c`, version 1.20. The actual compilation
took place with the `cc` compiler (again using the `-O3` flag) on a
SPARCstation 20 with 64 MB main memory and SunOS 5.3 operating system.

On this machine we computed the optimal weights for the facility distributions from the first stage with facilities (see Section 3.2).

Computation times were obtained by the UNIX `time` command.
Figure 6 shows these computation times for Stage 2.

Figure - for *N* = 16, 25, 36, 49 and
- for *N* = 64, 81, 100, whereas the
extremal fundamental systems of Reimer and Sündermann [20]
differ from equal weights by about -
for *N* = 16, 25, 36, 49.
Moreover, our weights are closer to equal weights than the weights
from [23].
All of our weights are positive except for some isolated cases.
