The Weights

The code for computing the weights was developed with SPARCompiler Pascal 3.0 and cross-compiled to C with p2c, version 1.20. The actual compilation took place with the cc compiler (again using the -O3 flag) on a SPARCstation 20 with 64 MB main memory and SunOS 5.3 operating system.

On this machine we computed the optimal weights for the facility distributions from the first stage with tex2html_wrap_inline3377 facilities tex2html_wrap_inline3587 (see Section 3.2).

Computation times were obtained by the UNIX time command. Figure 6 shows these computation times for Stage 2.

Moreover, our weights are closer to equal weights than the weights from [23]. All of our weights are positive except for some isolated cases.
