Brief Biography

Soon after completing my doctoral thesis at the School of Industrial Engineering at Purdue University, I won the First Prize in the 1993 George Nicholson Competition sponsored by the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences for my work on the integration of variance reduction techniques for Monte Carlo simulation: ivrt77.pdf. Between 1993 and 1997, I worked at Sabre Airline Solutions on airline revenue management projects and in schedule planning and revenue management for the French National Railways in Paris, France. I was Assistant Professor at the School of Operations Research and Information Engineering at Cornell University between 1997 and 2001. I was Invited Researcher at the Department of Computer Science and Operations Research, University of Montreal (2002-2005) and Researcher until September 2006, collaborating with Professor Pierre L'Ecuyer. I joined the University of Southampton in 2007.

I am primarily interested in operational and decision problems involving uncertainty.
